Michael works on the Growth Impact Fund at Shift as a mixed-methods researcher. He seeks to understand the experiences of organisations and individuals lacking representation in the social investment sector, identifying opportunities for the fund’s continual improvement. Michael shares Shift’s commitment to helping organisations better access investment and address social inequalities.
Michael has a background in the health, wellbeing and housing sectors. Before joining Shift in 2022, he managed community-building services at ExtraCare Charitable Trust. He is also the founder of social enterprise The Mindfulness Tree, with experience running mindfulness-based events, training and coaching. Michael completed PhD research between 2014-2019 into the ways that meditation practices can enhance self-knowledge and support academic research.
When not at work, Michael likes to try out new vegan recipes with his partner. He also enjoys experimental music, jazz, fantasy, football and board-gaming.
