Matt Black is our Partnerships Director. He is developing our consultancy services and builds and manages relationships with key stakeholder, partners and clients.

Passionate about social enterprise, Matt has used his skills in business development and communications to create social change and enable social entrepreneurs to make a difference to society. Along the way he’s gathered expertise in marketing, journalism, video production, partnership development, investment raising and facilitation.

Before joining Shift Design, Matt was Head of Community at social investment advisory firm Numbers for Good. Matt’s diverse role saw him lead three successful investment raises, redevelop the Numbers for Good brand and website and develop and lead key client relationships with large charities, housing associations, FTSE100 companies and foundations.

Matt’s (tenuous) claims to fame include: cooking dinner for Winnie Mandela and Princess Caroline of Monaco, creating the “zenith of all powerpoints” (according to Russell Brand) and coining the term “Twitter storm” (allegedly).
